Last updated on Monday, September 17, 2012

(MOORESVILLE) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a personal injury ATV accident that occurred Sunday around noon on private property south of Monrovia in Morgan County.

Stanley Graves, 63 of Mooresville, was operating a four wheeler on his farm searching for a lost calf when he rolled over a steep embankment causing him to be pinned under the ATV.

During the rollover a portion of the ATV's rear equipment rack impaled the victim's lower leg.

He was able to call for assistance from the remote area on the farm using his cell phone. Rescue personnel removed the impaled metal rod from the ATV and the victim was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis in stable condition.
