(BEDFORD) - Doug Castetter, of Noise Pollution, says the Rocking The River event held at the Bedford Boat Club September 8, was a huge success.
More than $3,000 was raised and almost 2,000 food items were collected for LIFE Pantry.
Castetter says more than 1,000 people attended the event.
"We had six bands this year and several vendors," Castetter says. "But next year, we are hoping for a head-lining band and many more vendors. We plan to start getting things moving earlier and our first planning meeting is scheduled for November."
Castetter says the event's success was because of the many volunteers, vendors and band members that were willing to participate. And the success wouldn't have been possible with out the the community that came out to hear the bands and donated cash and food items.
Castetter, who is a member of the boat club, says next year's event will be bigger and better and anyone that is willing to assist with the planning or who would like to be a sponsor is asked to call him.
"It takes everyone to make this event successful, not only are we looking for volunteers, but sponsors, vendors and bands," he says. "I want to thank everyone who helped make this event possible, we couldn't have done it without them."
