(ENGLISH) - Opening statements will be heard beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the trial of Paoli Community Schools Superintendent Alva Sibbitt Jr.

Following a full day of jury selection Tuesday in Crawford Circuit Court, four women and two men were seated. Another man was chosen as the alternate.

Sibbitt is being represented by Bedford Attorney Scott Callahan. Orange County Prosecutor Kelly Minton will represent the state's case, and the case will be heard by Crawford Circuit Court Judge K. Lynn Lopp.

Sibbitt, 70, was arrested Dec. 9, 2010. In charges stemming from a traffic stop, Sibbitt is alleged to have rammed the Paoli Community Schools van he was driving into a parked patrol car, according to ISP Trooper Robert Lambert.

Sibbitt was charged with resisting law enforcement, a Class D felony; intimidation, a Class D felony; resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor; criminal recklessness, a Class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor.

The case requires only a six-member jury because the most serious charge is a Class D felony.

Sibbitt's attorney requested the change of venue because of pretrial publicity the case had received.
