(BEDFORD) - GM Powertrain announces the Get Wise (Women In Science and Engineering) Foundation will host the first Get Wise program Oct. 25 at GM Bedford Casting.
The purpose of this program is to teach sixth-grade girls about various career opportunities related to engineering and encourage them to pursue a college education.
The free program will consist of competitive activities, lunch, a plant tour, opportunities to interact with professional women and educational door prizes.
GM is asking local businesses to consider sponsoring Get Wise with a donation that will enable the company to buy supplies, bring in guest speakers and provide snacks and lunch for the girls.
