Bedford Woman Hurt After Crashing Into Utility Pole

(FAYETTEVILLE) - A Bedford woman was injured after she crashed into a utility pole Saturday at 3:48 a.m.

According to a Lawrence County Police, 32-year-old Tammy Schmidt, of Bedford, was traveling east on Ind. 450 and while taking a curve her vehicle slid and she hit a utility pole.

Her passenger fled the scene.

According to police Schmidt attempted to back the 1996 Chevrolet Conventional Cab Truck away from the pole and again pulled forward hitting the pole a second time.

Schmidt did tell police she had been drinking prior to the accident.

Schmidt's blood alcohol content was .02 percent, under the legal limit.

She was cited for false and fictitious registration.
