(EAST OOLITIC) - A Bedford man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to strangle a woman Wednesday night.
35-year-old Michael Bailey Jr., of 142 Heartland Road, was charged with strangulation and domestic battery in the presence of a minor.
According to Lawrence County police logs, officers were called to a home at the intersection of Farmer and Heartland streets in East Oolitic around 11:08 p.m.
The caller reported a man had just injured a woman and then fled the scene.
When officers from Oolitic and Lawrence County and first responders from Shawswick Vounteer Fire Department arrived they talked to the woman who said Bailey had injured her.
The woman was taken to IU Health Hospital for treatment of minor injures.
Police looked for the suspect and finally found Bailey.
