(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after he hit another vehicle at the intersection of 16th and O streets Wednesday afternoon.

According to a Bedford Police report, Robert Atkins, 48, was traveling east on 16th Street and had stopped his 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix in the right lane when an unknown vehicle in front of him stopped to make a turn.

That is when a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by 68-year-old Janet Matlock rear-ended Atkins' car.

Matlock told police she couldn't get stopped in time to avoid the collision

Atkins complained of back pain, Matlock was not injured. There was no damage to the vehicles.
