(BEDFORD) - 18-year-old Jeremiah Johnson was arrested early Thursday morning after a homeowner caught him ransacking through a vehicle parked at the intersection of 25th Street and Washington Avenue.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, Johnson was attempting to steal items from a vehicle, when the owners saw Johnson inside the vehicle and three other males outside it.

The owners yelled and the men took off running. When police arrived the owners were able to give descriptions of the men. Police found one of the men and Johnson on R Street.

The man told police he was outside the vehicle, while Johnson was inside the car. The owners were also able to identify Johnson as the man inside the vehicle. Johnson was arrested and charged with unauthorized entry to a vehicle and was taken to jail.
