Woman Hit By Truck In Oolitic, Police Looking For Driver

Last updated on Wednesday, August 15, 2012

(OOLITIC) - A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run accident that occurred Sunday at 6:23 p.m.

Lawrence County Police Department Chief Deputy Mike Branham said the accident took place on Hoosier Avenue in front of Casey's General Store.

Branham said Nicole Luallen, whose age and address were not available, was crossing Hoosier Avenue from east to west. Branham said Luallen was struck by a black pickup truck. The driver was northbound on Hoosier Avenue.

Branham said a member of the pedestrian's family drove her by private vehicle to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital. The Oolitic Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.

"The only information we have on the suspect is that it was a black Chevy pickup, driven by a white female," Branham said. "The investigating officer is working on all avenues for evidence. There are a couple of witnesses. We're looking at in-store video, as well."

Anyone who has information about the accident is asked to call the LCPD at 275-3316.
