Skulls Found In Barn, Could Be Hundreds Of Years Old

(SPRINGVILLE) - Lawrence county Coroner John Sherril says two skulls found in barn loft near Springville are human and of historic nature.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Stephen Nawrocki determined the skulls are likely Native Americans who lived in the deserts of the southwestern United States.

The skulls were found at the beginning of this month when the Kast family, on Greer Lane were cleaning a barn.

Sherrill says the skulls are more than a 100 years old. It is still unknown how the skulls ended up in the barn.
