Last updated on Friday, August 3, 2012

(MITCHELL) - Mitchell Police Chief Mike Hardman will meet with Lawrence County Prosecutor Michelle Woodward today to seek a warrant for the person who robbed Lost River Liquor.

"We have a suspect and I will ask for the warrant today," Hardman says. "If we get that would should be able to make an arrest soon."

Police officers from Mitchell and Lawrence County spent Wednesday afternoon searching for the man, who was armed with a .45 long barrel revolver, concealed in a Dollar General grocery sack, and walked into the liquor store on Sixth Street in Mitchell and robbed the clerk.

Police were called at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Police are looking for a white man, between 35 to 40 years-old, with blonde hair. The man was wearing a white t-shirt and khakis at the time of the robbery.

Police spent the evening interviewing several people and searching the area and gathering evidence at the store.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police.
