Linton Man Injured After Rear-Ending Truck

(LINTON) - A Linton man drove into the rear-end of a truck on NE 4th Street in Linton early Sunday morning, causing extensive damage to both vehicles and sending himself to the hospital for treatment.

Nick Schneider, of the Greene County Daily World reports, Linton Police Officer Debbie McDonald-Miller investigated a wreck at 3:31 a.m. on NE 4th Street near the intersection of NE F Street

Extensive damage was done to both vehicles, estimated by police to total between $10,001 and $25,000.

Bart M. Haynes, 34, of Linton, told police he had been drinking and struck the rear of a parked 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Extended truck, registered to Ralph M. Gallagher, of Walterboro, South Carolina

The parked vehicle was not occupied and was located near the current residence of Gallagher.

Haynes was driving a 1989 Ford Tempo, owned by Joshua Shonk, of Linton.
Haynes suffered facial, hand and knee injuries and was taken to Greene County General Hospital in Linton for treatment.

Charges are pending against Haynes until results from a blood draw for alcohol are available.
