(BEDFORD) - Despite recent isolated rains, a burn ban remains for Lawrence County, according to officials.
Sheriff Sam Craig said the burn ban is still in place.
Bedford Fire Department Chief Jon Wagner said the showers have been extremely isolated, leaving some areas still extremely dry.
"There were strips of rains and then some areas that didn't get any," Wagner said. "There are even some areas in the city that are extremely dry, and I would urge people to be very careful and not to burn anything."
Craig said there was a hay bale fire this morning near Springville and a grass fire Monday morning near Indiana Limestone.
