(LINTON) - Lamb Jam has made a slight change this year to help patrons beat the heat by expanding to two nights.

Sabrina Westfall, of the Greene County Daily World reports, the free concert, with a lineup of Christian artists of several genres, will be Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m. at Linton's Humphreys Park.

Lamb Jam is usually an all-day Saturday event, but coordinator Clifford Franklin said recent heat waves made organizers rethink the original set-up.

"With the time of year we do this event, it can get pretty toasty. Especially this summer. So, we want to make the most of our evenings," Franklin explained.

Lamb Jam will feature Christian-based bands for all music lovers, ranging from gospel to rap to crunkcore stylings.

Franklin said both Christians and non-Christians are invited out to listen to the variety of music geared towards every music lover.

He described Lamb Jam as an opportunity to gather the community in a Christian and family friendly setting, while providing fellowship for everyone.

"With Lamb Jam, it's been just a great chance to build community. When we were looking at getting started, we already had a great music festival with Linton Music Festival, and it was so cool to see the community they were able to build with that," Franklin explained.

Lamb Jam will be in coordination with the Linton Community Food Pantry's Back to School Bash.

"There will be free haircuts, free school clothes and free food on Saturday," Franklin said.

He added the coordination with the Linton Community Food Pantry has helped bring people into the park to experience fellowship and get a feel of importance and love as the many denominations in the community band together.

"We have gotten a lot of great support, and expanded our horizons on what we can do," Franklin said.

He added Lamb Jam has been blessed with its supporters, and organizers are grateful for the help they have received.

"(Greene County) Right to Life has come on board and been a huge help this year," Franklin said about the sponsor.

Friday's line-up will feature:

* Linton First Christian Church

* Linton Assembly of God

* South Linton Church of God

* Heat of His Glory

* Michael Cocherin

Saturday's line-up will feature

* Sam Barbee - Christian rock

* Bob Moffin and the Transformation

* Colt Slack - rap

* Crazy Crazy Awesome Awesome - cruckcore

* Suffered This Far
