Crane Could Face Possible Cut Backs

Last updated on Wednesday, August 29, 2012

(CRANE) - The Crane Army Ammunition Activity has notified its employees of the potential for cutbacks.

A statement from the CAAA public affairs office reads that employees were notified of "the potential of cutback from Full Time Schedule A authority to intermittent Schedule A work schedules in the coming fiscal year."

The cutback would affect 20 or fewer workers and would be because of reduced funding. According to the press release no employees have been laid off.

Crane is working to prevent the potential layoffs and is working with headquarters to identify funding levels for fiscal year 2013 in order to prevent cutbacks to the workforce.

Officials notified workers because they wanted to be up-front about the funding issue and the possibility of layoffs and say they will keep employees updated on the situation.
