Cotillion Helps Sexual Assault Victims In Greene County

Last updated on Friday, August 31, 2012

(GREENE COUNTY) - Greene County women’s advocates and prosecutors are selling tickets to a cotillion for the cause of helping sexual assault victims attain local medical aid.

Mark Stalcup of the Greene County Daily World reports the second Annual "Mom Prom" is planned for 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church Knights of Columbus Hall, a fundraiser which will assist in the training of a local sexual assault response team.

Funds raised by the event will help train a sexual assault nurse examiner for Greene County General Hospital.

Victims presently must have their exams administered in Bloomington Hospital, placing an additional burden on them due to the travel.

The ladies only, by invitation, "Mom Prom" features fun, food, drinks, a silent auction and dancing. Tickets are $20, and can be obtained from Middle Way House workers or the Greene County Prosecutor's Office.
