(BROWNSTOWN) - The Jackson County Courthouse in Brownstown was closed part of the day Tuesday because of air conditioning and computer problems.
Early Monday, County Commissioners' President Jerry Hounshel says someone looked at the system to see what was wrong with the systems.
He believes a lightning strike Friday evening may have knocked out the air conditioning as well as telephone and Internet lines, which were not working Monday morning.
Hounshel says the main issue with no air conditioning is that the windows at the courthouse cannot be opened, making it hot in the second-floor offices.
He spoke with employees at the courthouse annex in Brownstown and there were no problems in that building.
