Boil Order Lifted for Mitchell Residents

Last updated on Friday, August 10, 2012

(MITCHELL) - Water customers of Mitchell Utilities are no longer under a precautionary boil order after a water main break Tuesday night.

The order, which is standard procedures when repairing water line breaks, is no longer in effect.

The order effected Hancock Avenue, west of 12th Street, including Hel-Mar Acres, Teke Burton Drive, 14th Street, Meadow Moor, Sprint, Gasoline Alley and all Mitchell Community Schools.

Customers were asked to bring all water to a boil and let it boil for two minutes as per other boil orders.

Pre-boiled or bottled water should be used for all food preparation, drinking and brushing teeth, washing vegetables or dishes and so on during normal boil orders.

Customers with questions should call the water department at 849-4168.
