Bloomington Woman Dies After Jumping From Parking Garage

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman died Friday from injures she suffered after jumping from a 4th-floor parking garage into the courtyard of the Hilton Garden Inn.

51-year-old Susan Keenan, was a senior lecturer of accounting at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.

According to Bloomington Detective Sgt. John Kovach, three witnesses -- two in the parking garage and one in the courtyard of the Hilton - saw Keenan jump from the fourth floor of the parking garage.

One witness, a man, told police had just gotten off an elevator in the garage, when he saw the woman jump.

Kovach says Keenan did not trip or fall off the building.

Keenan was taken by an ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital with "severe leg injuries Friday morning just after before 7 a.m.
