The student and the alleged suspect were both at a fraternity party.

According to IU Police Department Chief Keith Cash, the two had engaged in consensual sexual activity and then returned to male's dorm room.

Cash said the alleged victim felt the continued activity in the dorm room was not consensual, while the alleged suspect thought it was.

The alleged suspect is also an IU freshman and was a guest at the fraternity party, not a member.
