Women Now Face More Serious Charges After Child Dies

Last updated on Saturday, July 28, 2012

(BLOOMINGTON) - When 2-year-old I’Nere Genesis Ja’Lee Wallace arrived at IU Health Bloomington Hospital’s emergency room, doctors suspected the child had been abused. So police arrested her mother and the woman’s partner on preliminary charges of battery and neglect.

The toddler died from her injuries last week. The two women now face a more serious charge: neglect of a dependent resulting in death. Tameria E. Kline, 23, the child's mother, and Dominique Irby, Kline's partner, are being held at the Monroe County Jail.

Irby, 20, was scheduled to appear in court at 9 Friday for a bond reduction hearing and at 11 for a hearing on whether a two-year jail sentence for theft suspended last year should be imposed because of her arrest.

I'Nere's funeral also is set for 11 a.m. Friday.

Her mother is set to appear in court for a bail review hearing at 9 a.m. Monday.
