Washington Man Arrested After Leaving Scene Of Accident

(WASHINGTON) - After fleeing from a minor traffic accident lands, 46-year-old John Grover McCammon, from Washington, landed in jail.

Around 6:46 p.m. Sunday, a caller contacted the Washington Police Department reporting a traffic accident at the intersection of Maysville Road and Oak Street.

The caller says that an older blue truck had continued northbound on Maysville Road after the accident.

About a half-hour later Washington Police officers located the truck at an apartment house in the 100 block of South East Fourth Street.

Later the mother of a juvenile passenger involved in the accident called to report her son was complaining of injuries.

The Police Department advised her to take him to the hospital for evaluation.

The driver of the truck, McCammon, was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene property damage accident.
