(SEYMOUR) - An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Seymour man and his teenage girlfriend Wednesday on the city's west side, police report.

"I received information about a possible meth cook going on," Jackson County Sheriff's Department Officer Jeff Walters said Thursday of information that led to the arrest of Michael Hunnicutt.

Aubrey Woods, of the Tribune reports. Hunnicutt, 30, faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of precursors. His 17- year- old girlfriend faces charges of visiting a common nuisance and possession of two or more precursors, a felony. Her name was not released.

Hunnicutt was booked into Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday and was being held on $100,005 bond.

Walters said after he received the tip, he and state Trooper Matt Powell went to the 600 block of West Seventh Street in Seymour where Hunnicutt lived in a garage behind a house.

Walters said Hunnicutt and his girlfriend were outside, and the girlfriend showed
police some precursors, including lithium batteries, when questioned if she had any.

During a search of Hunnicutt's residence, Walters said, police found several items used to make meth.

"There was not an active lab," Walters said, however.

The Indiana State Police's Meth Suppression team, which includes Powell and Mas┬Čter Trooper Marty Mead from the Versailles Post, were involved in the cleanup.

Trooper Travis Linville assisted with the arrests.
