(BROWNSTOWN) - Brownstown Police Department is looking for a man who is impersonating a police officer.

Brownstown Officer Mitch Ray says a young woman told police she was driving slowly because her car was malfunctioning and was pulled over by an unmarked black and white Crown Victoria with blue and white lights in the grill area.

The woman told police the man approached her and told her that the next time she drives slowly and obstructs traffic he would write her a ticket.

Ray says the man is white with brown eyes and has a military-style dirty blond hair. He is about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs between 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a white button down shirt and black pants. None of his clothing bore police identification.

Police stress if you are stopped and not sure if it is an officer you can ask for identification. All officers are required to carry a badge with ID.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call police.
