Orlean Residents To Hear Results Of Charrettee

Last updated on Tuesday, July 17, 2012

(ORLEAN) - A large number of Orleans residents, community leaders, merchants and business owners participated in last week’s Community Visioning Workshop or Charrettee held at the Orleans Christian Church’s Unity Hall.

The three-day workshop focusing on the historic downtown area was held in conjunction with Ball State University, who is working with town and chamber officials this summer in developing a Comprehensive Plan entitled, "Imagine Orleans."

Orleans Town Clerk Robert F. Henderson said "We want to express a huge thanks to everyone who has participated and helped with the visioning process to date. It has been a total community effort." "We especially appreciate the Orleans Christian Church for their generous use of Unity Hall as it has been a perfect site location for our event. "

"Our Ball State team have all just been great to work with and have done an excellent job," We look forward to hearing their final recommendations. said Orleans Town Council President Mike H. Fields.

A final public presentation on the downtown revitalization ideas is planned for Tuesday, July 24 at the Orleans High School Cafeteria , beginning at 6:30 p.m. to formally unveil and present some of the Ball State team's ideas or concepts for Imagine Orleans.

"We would very much like to encourage Orleans residents to come out and hear and see the final recommendations as well as also having an opportunity to comment or ask questions about any of the proposals." added Henderson.

The Imagine Orleans Steering Committee will also play host to an old-fashioned ice cream social that evening as an added feature and welcome everyone to come out and join in the on-going discussion about the future Orleans.
