(SALEM) - 18-year-old Ricky Vickers Jr, of Salem man is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl whom he met on Facebook.
Vickers is charged with child molesting, a class B felony. The attack took place in April when the child was home alone.
According to police, the girl says on the day of the alleged assault she ran into Vickers after school. He then came to her home and started making sexual advances.
The girl told police she said "no", but Vickers continued and became aggressive. The girl says she struggled to get away, but Vickers allegedly pinned her down and sexually assaulted her.
THe girl told police that after the attack, Vickers grabbed his stuff and ran.
The girl told police she did know how old Vickers was and that he knew her age as well.
The girl told police that Vickers sent her a text message after the assault and told her not to tell anyone.
The girl later told her babysitter what had happened and the babysitter then informed her mother, who contacted police.
Vickers is scheduled to appear in Washington Circuit Court August 23rd.
