Louisville Man Dies After Thrown From Motorcycle

(SALEM) - 56-year-old Wesley Whittle, of Louisville, was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson and was traveling through the intersection of Voyles Road and State Road 60 East and pulled into the path of a westbound van, driven by 71-year-old James Hamby, of Pekin.

The impact threw Whittle from the bike. Whittle who was not wearing a helmet was pronounced dead at the scene. Police from the Washington County Sheriff's Department say Whittle suffering head and chest injuries.

Police say Hamby had two passengers in his 1993 Chevrolet van; nobody was injured. He tested negative for drugs and alcohol. The crash remains under investigation.
