Linton Man Arrested On Intimidation Charges

Last updated on Sunday, July 22, 2012

(SWITZ CITY) - A Linton man was arrested on preliminary charges of intimidation, a class D felony, after threatening to harm another.

Sabrina Westfall, of the Greene County Daily World reports, Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy David Miller was dispatched to a Switz City residence in regards to a man being followed then threatened on May 26.

According to a probable cause filed with Greene Superior Court, Dale Hasket was driving on State Road 54 when a white Chevrolet 1500 started to tailgate his vehicle, attempted to pass and swerved towards Hasket's vehicle.

Hasket proceeded to his residence in Switz City in order to figure out who had been following him.

The vehicle followed Hasket to his residence, and Hasket, along with his two adult and two child passengers exited the vehicle. At that time Steven Myers, 61, along with two passengers, allegedly started making a scene.

"Dale stated that Steven and two unidentified passengers were yelling, cussing and making threats and that Steven specifically stated, 'I am going to get out of this truck and slit your throat'," Miller wrote in the probable cause.

Hasket identified Myers as the uncle to his child's mother.

While Hasket's father intervened, he stepped back and took a photo of the vehicle to confirm Myers was the driver, then called 911.

By the time Miller reached the residence Myers had already left.

Miller was unable to get in contact with Myers, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Myers was arrested July 17 by Linton Police Officer Debbie McDonald-Miller when she, Officer Thomas Jerrels and Officer Michael Watts went to his Glenburn Road address.
Myers was located at the residence, and transported to the Greene County Jail. He is being held on $4,000 bond. No court date has been set.
