Jessica Hutchinson New Assistant Principal

(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell school board named Jessica Hutchinson as the new assistant elementary school principal.

She will replace Amanda May who has been hired by the North Lawrence school system to be principal at Parkview intermediate school.

Taking Hutchinson's postion in the fifth grade classroom will be Sarah Masters, who had taught the emotionally handicapped students at Burris Elementary School.

The board hired a new teacher, Meghan Faulkner, to replace Masters.

Matt Sowders as government and economics teacher at Mitchell High School.
Abigail Bill as Mitchell Junior High School art teacher.
Anna Sullivan as eighth-grade science teacher.
Alison Kern as sixth-grade science teacher.
Damon Willoughby as a Title I teacher.
Lynnsie Godsey as Title I teacher.
Amy Garland as a special education aide.
Jennifer Spencer as a special education aide.
Larry Moffat as boys and girls varsity track coach.
Dennis Hardman and Byron Morris as assistant co-coaches for varsity boys track.
Dawn Duncan and Lori Quebbeman as assistant co-coaches for varsity girls track.

Resignations

Christina Hennion as speech teacher, effective Aug. 10.
Amos Wegner as assistant football coach, effective June 13.
Megan Gohlke as junior high school art teacher, effective June 25.
Sarah Smith as junior high school science teacher, effective Aug. 3.
Amanda Cheatham as speech teacher, effective Aug. 6.
Austin Malone as high school English/psychology teacher, effective July 5.

Maternity Leave

The board also approved a maternity leave for high school physical education teacher Cari Isom from Aug. 9 to Sept. 21.
