Jasonville Council Accepting Applications For Volunteer Firefighters

Last updated on Friday, July 13, 2012

(JASONVILLE) - The Jasonville City Council announced Monday evening that they are accepting applications for volunteer firefighter trainees.

Fire Chief Harold Keller explained that trainees cannot fight fires until after they have completed training and become a first class fireman.

Of the two applications that had been submitted, the council voted for Jasonville resident David Lapray to begin firefighter training but tabled the second application due to that applicant's residency status.

"I don't want to vote on a person who lives in Linton unless he moves back to Jasonville and stays," noted Councilwoman Peggy Sluder.
