Bloomington Police: 11 Arrests Tied To Crack, Heroin

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police arrested 11 people Wednesday morning in connection to an investigation into crack cocaine and heroin.

The arrests came after a three-month investigation into drugs at Southern Winds Inn Apartments, 3000 South Walnut Street.

Officers served the search warrants at 5:30 a.m. and seized a handgun, about 40 grams of heroin, 40 to 50 grams of cocaine and $5,100 in cash. Police officials estimate the street value of the drugs to be nearly $20,000.

"We believe that these arrests will have a significant impact on the availability of crack cocaine and heroin in Bloomington," Bloomington Police Chief Michael Diekhoff said in a news release.

Significant activity at the apartment complex at night was one of various details of the case that investigators noted. The suspects facing the most serious charges have addresses connected to Detroit and Battle Creek, Mich.

Suspects:

Joseph Blythe was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor.

Cassandria Roy was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor.

Tracy Gifford was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor.

Nicole Berry was arrested on three preliminary charges of dealing cocaine, all Class B felonies, and one preliminary charge of maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony.

William Holloway was arrested on a preliminary charge of dealing heroin, a Class B felony.

Dwayne Fredrick was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of cocaine with intent to deal, a Class A felony and possession of heroin with intent to deal, a Class A felony.

Brandy Deckard was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor.

Larry D. Johnson was arrested on two preliminary charges of dealing heroin, both Class B felonies; and preliminary charges of possession of heroin with intent to deal, a Class A felony, possession of cocaine with intent to deal, a Class A felony, and serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, a Class B felony.

Shannon Bell-Hadley was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor.

Tina Berry was arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor.

Ray Fredricks was arrested on two preliminary charges of dealing cocaine, a Class B felony, and preliminary charges of possession of cocaine with intent to deal, a Class A felony, and possession of heroin with intent to deal, a Class A felony.
