Last updated on Wednesday, July 11, 2012

(HUNTINGBURG) - A one-vehicle accident Saturday morning just west of Huntingburg seriously injured two men.

The Dubois County Sheriff's office says a pickup truck driven by 19-year old James Norman of Taswell crossed the centerline of Indiana State Road 64 just west of Huntingburg Lake before the truck left the highway, striking an embankment that caused the truck to flip several times ejecting Norman and a passenger before the vehicle came to rest on the northside of the highway.

Sheriff's investigators say both Norman and 20-year old Jacob Wilson of Orleans suffered what are described as multiple traumas in the accident. Police say Wilson suffered head injuries as well.

Both were taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper before they were lifeflighted to St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

The accident happened at about 6:20 Saturday morning. Why the truck went left of center and off the highway remains under investigation.
