(PAYNETOWN) - On Tuesday, the Stonebelt Stargazers will encourage people to turn their eyes (safely) toward the sun for what they’re calling a “once-in-a-lifetime event.”
From the perspective of Earth, Venus will cross in front of the sun, appearing as a dot on the surface of the sun.
The Stargazers, the Indiana University Astronomy Club and Paynetown State Recreation Area will host a live viewing of the transit from 6-8 p.m. Some additional activities will take place earlier in the the afternoon.
