Schedule For 27th Annual Shoals Catfish Festival

(SHOALS) - The 27th annual Catfish Festival kicks off today and continues Saturday, Sunday and July 1. The Shoals community invites everyone to the following festivities:

Friday, June 29

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Book sale at the Shoals Public Library.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Museum open at the Old Courthouse.
4-9 p.m. - Catfish fishing contest on the bridge
6 p.m. - Opening ceremonies at the stage in front of the courthouse; Softball tournament begins at the ballpark; Texas Hold 'em at the American Legion Post 61 (register at 5 p.m.)
6:30 p.m. - Little Firecrackers, Little Miss contest, Pre-Teen contest, Catfish Festival Queen contest, courthouse stage
8:30 p.m. - Martin County Idol contest, courthouse stage

Saturday, June 30

7 a.m. to noon - Catfish fishing contest on the bridge
7:30 a.m. - Catfish run/walk
8:30 a.m. - Men's basketball tournament, ball park
10 a.m. - Volleyball tournament
10:30 a.m. - Catfish Festival parade
12:30 p.m. - Bike show, American Legion Post 61
1 p.m. - Horseshoe pitch (doubles), boat landing
2 p.m. - Biggest catfish contest award, White River Outfitters
2:30 p.m. - Catfish gutter races, White River Outfitters
4 p.m. - Sexy tractor show, stage area
5 p.m. - Catfish "shotgun wedding" between the Hatfields and McCoys, stage area
6 p.m. - Battle of the bands (Coralus, The Seahourse Bandits, That 1 Band, Thirsty Turtle, Sandrock, Fonda), courthouse stage

Sunday, July 1

9:30 a.m. - Catfish bicycle ride, Shoals post office
12:30 p.m. - Corn hole tournament, Washer Tournament, Martin County Museum lawn
2 p.m. - Catfish cookin' contest award, east side of post office; baby contest at Shoals Christian Church Rescource Center.
3 p.m. - Egg toss contest, post office
4 p.m. - Steve Jeffris in concert, Shoals United Methodist Church
6 p.m. - Gospel sing featuring Judit Montgomery and Southern Gospel, Shoals Christian Church

Wednesday, July 4

10 p.m. - Great Catfish Festival fireworks display
