Salem Man Injured After Being Thrown From SUV

Last updated on Wednesday, June 20, 2012

(SALEM) - A rollover crash resulted in the driver of a 1994 Ford Explorer being ejected.

Steven Vincent, 25, 4742 E. Old State Road 56, Salem, was transported by the Washington County Ambulance Service to St. Vincent Salem Hospital, then flown by air ambulance to University of Louisville, said Deputy Brad Naugle of the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Naugle said Vincent was responsive at the scene.

Naugle's says that it appears speed was a factor in the crash, which was reported at 1:14 a.m. Sunday. Naugle said Vincent was westbound when he went off the north side of the highway, then overcorrected, going across the road and off the south side. The Explorer hit an embankment, causing it to roll over. Vincent told officers he was thrown out as the SUV rolled.

The crash remains under investigation.
