Last updated on Friday, June 15, 2012

(SALEM) - A Salem man approached by police after they responded to a possible domestic dispute exposed himself, threatened officers and said he would blow up the jail if arrested.

Stephanie Taylor Ferriell of the Leader-Deomcrat reports that Micah R. Spurlin, 25, 500 Salem Ave., was arrested on a felony charge of intimidation against a law enforcement officers, as well as misdemeanor charges of public indecency, public intoxication and disorderly conduct following the incident last Monday.

When they arrived, Spurlin was in the roadway and his mother was trying to guide him to the side of the road. The report says Spurlin was screaming and refused to heed officers' direction to speak in a normal tone. Spurlin had a BAC of .19.

Spurlin told officers he had a disease, then exposed himself to them, asking if they saw the warts. Spurlin insisted he could not be arrested due to his disease and yelled that he would sue all the officers involved and have them terminated from their jobs if arrested. He also said he would blow up the jail.

During book-in, when an officer mentioned the charge of intimidation, Spurlin again became agitated and said he could not be charged with that because he was intoxicated and didn't know what he was saying. He insisted he had done nothing wrong and said he would sue everyone, including the mayor and the jailer.

Spurlin remains incarcerated at the Washington County Detention Center.
