Last updated on Saturday, June 9, 2012

(ORLEANS) - This weekend 25-year-old musician, Jordana Greenberg will be back home in Orleans entertaining.

Greenberg now plays as part of group known as Harpeth Rising, which features three other musicians she met while all of them were studying music at Indiana University. Harpeth Rising is scheduled to perform at the Orange County Music & Heritage Reunion on the festival's west stage in downtown Orleans at 8 p.m. Saturday.

This year marks the first year for the annual festival which will replace the Lotus Dickey Hometown Music & Arts Reunion. It was staged for many years on the square in Paoli, but it was shifted to Orleans when renovation of the Orange County Courthouse was taking place, and the festival never returned to Paoli.

The festival continues today and Sunday on the Orleans Congress Square.
The free event has over 40 hours of traditional, folk, roots and bluegrass music on two stages featuring local talent and students from 5 to 60 years of age. Music on the stages on Saturday music runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday is noon to 6 p.m.

The Heritage portion includes interpretive displays about the tiny Orange County settlements of Punkin Center and Valleene. Kids will appreciate the games and heritage animals from pioneer days. Saving Historic Orange County will demonstrate restoration techniques for old sash windows and stained glass. A "penny farthing" bicyclist, a juggler and clown will wander the square. Food and craft vendors will be scattered around the park as well. Bring your lawn chairs and blanket.

Saturday's events include the HomeGrown Farmers Market all morning, music jamming under the sycamore tree and the community heritage and antique tractor displays during daylight hours.

Check the website "musicandheritagereunion.org" and on Facebook "music and heritage reunion" or "orange county music and heritage reunion" for the full schedule of who is playing and when.
