Norman Marine Killed In Afghanistan

(NORMAN) - A Norman marine has died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Hunter Hogan, 21, of Norman, died Saturday while conducting combat operations in the Helmand province in Afghanistan.

Hogan was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Hogan was a 2009 Brownstown CenĀ­tral High School graduate.

Funeral arrangements for Hogan were not availĀ­able.

According to Hogan's Facebook page, the young Marine was living in New Bern, N.C., near where he was stationed.

Hunter's father was a Marine and Hunter wanted to follow in his footsteps.
