(MARTINSVILLE) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal ATV accident that happened Wednesday evening in Morgan County near the intersection of Bryant’s Creek and Moulton Roads.
Tyler Roland, 14, Martinsville, was driving a Polaris Ranger along the county road when he lost control of the vehicle near a curve in the roadway.
The ATV rolled on to the driver's side, and Roland was thrown from the vehicle.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and requested a medical helicopter. Roland was pronounced dead while being transported by ambulance to the helicopter.
A 14 year old passenger on the ATV received minor injuries during the crash.
Preliminary information indicates that speed is a contributing factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation, and additional witnesses are being interviewed.
