Martinsville: Plea Deals Reached For Coaches

Last updated on Friday, June 1, 2012

(MARTINSVILLE) - A plea deal for two former Martinsville High School coaches charged with child seduction has not been filed in Morgan County Superior Court I but one has been reached, Judge G. Thomas Gray said.

Keith Rhoades, of the Reporter-Times reports, Gray said the parties involved in the cases - Timothy J. Wolf, 66, and Jeffrey S. McGown, 38 - have requested a hearing in his court.

The judge said although the plea agreements have not been filed in his court the hearing, which included both the guilty plea and sentencing for both men, is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. June 27.

Wolf and McGown were each charged with three counts of child seduction after an Indiana State Police investigation. According to Special Prosecutor Doug Cummins of the Johnson County prosecutor's office, the men allegedly had an improper sexual relationship with a 17-year-old Martinsville High School female student.

In February, Wolf, the Martinsville High School boys basketball coach, resigned from Martinsville High School following his arrest at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis for public nudity. He was allegedly found in a vehicle at an Indianapolis park with the girl.

In early April, McGown, the high school tennis coach and a second grade teacher, was placed on paid administrative leave related to an alleged act of misconduct. He resigned earlier this month from the school.

According to the state police investigation, the girl allegedly became involved with McGown when she was 16. She later became involved with Wolf.

A call to Cummins' office for comment had not been returned at press time.
