Martinsville Man Dies In Crash

Last updated on Monday, June 4, 2012

(MORGAN COUNTY) - One person died in a crash Saturday evening in Morgan County. Indiana State Police say the accident happened on Little Point Road at Interstate 70.

Officers say a 2010 Chevy Tahoe pulling a camper, driven by 35 year old Jason L. Stouder of Wichita Falls, Texas, had exited eastbound I-70 at the 51 mile marker and stopped for the stop sign at Little Point Road.

The Stouder vehicle then proceeded east across Little Point Road in an attempt to enter the eastbound on-ramp of I-70 and was suddenly struck broadside by a southbound gray, 1994, Nissan, Sentra, driven by 53 year old Jeffrey A. Rosenbalm, of Martinsville.

Rosenbalm died at the scene from blunt force trauma according to Morgan County Deputy Coroner, Scott Kelley.

A seatbelt was in use.

Troopers found evidence at the scene that indicates Rosenbalm's vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and alcohol may have been a factor.

A driver's license check revealed Rosenbalm was operating his vehicle with no valid license.

Toxicology results are pending and may take up to two weeks for results.
Jason L. Stouder was not injured.
