(UNDATED) - Seymour-based Rose Acre Farms Inc. will fight a discrimination lawsuit filed Tuesday in U.S. District court at Indianapolis.

The justice department is suing Rose Acres Farms, to stop alleged discrimination against non-U.S. citizens in its hiring. The complaint alleges the company required non-citizens to produce more, different or specific documents issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to verify their eligibility for work, while U.S. citizens were perĀmitted to present their choice of documents.

But Rose Acre Chief Operating Officer Tony Wesner says that didn't happen. He said the company employs many minorities, including a large percentage 45 percent of non-U.S. citizens.
