Jackson County Residents Can Get Help Cooling Off

(JACKSON COUNTY) - Jackson County residents who qualify may receive help with paying summer air-conditioning costs this year.

Some may also qualify for the use of air conditioners. The Summer Cooling Program offered through Human Services Inc.

If your household meets income guidelines, you may qualify for a $65 benefit that will be applied directly toward your electric service.

Air conditioners will be available to households with a verified medical need on a first-come, first-serve basis

Funds are limited and are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, so Jackson County residents are asked to call the local Human Services Inc. office for an appointment at 522-8718.

Summer Cooling Program income guidelines:

Add $5,730 per year for each additional member
