Indiana State Police To Conduct Sobriety Check Points

Last updated on Friday, June 29, 2012

(UNDATED) - The Indiana State Police will team up with troopers from five other states to crack down on intoxicated driving this weekend.

The 6-State Trooper Project blitz on Friday and Saturday also involves state police agencies in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

The Indiana State Police says its troopers will use sobriety checkpoints and high-visibility saturation patrols as they focus on areas with large numbers of intoxicated drivers.

The 6-State Trooper Project is a partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, crime patrols and intelligence sharing.
