(MITCHELL) - Mitchell Police Department is investigating a case where two young females were knocking on doors early Monday morning and were asking for money.

According to police the two females knocked on a door of Tyler Duncan in the 500 block of South Second Street around 1:42 a.m.

The girls told Duncan they were from South Dakota and needed $20 for a motel room.

Duncan told the girls to go to the police department for a motel voucher and they quickly said no and got back into a maroon Ford Taurus and left.

A short time later at 1:53 a.m. the girls went to the home Linda Keith in the 500 block of Meridian Street. There the girls asked for $40.

The girls told Keith they had been kicked out of where they were living and needed money for a motel room. When Keith told the girls she would not give them the money they left.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
