(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after he was involved in an accident at the intersection of Mitchell and Sandpit roads Thursday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, when police arrived at the intersection they found 50-year-old Kenneth Clark, of Bedford, laying in the roadway.

Police say Clark suffered serious head injuries and complained of body pain. He was taken to IU Health Hospital for treatment and then flown by helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

According to police 22-year-old Rozlyn Turner, of Bedford was stopped at the stop sign on Sandpit Road and did not see the 2006 AMF Motorcycle driven by Clark. Turner told police she looked both ways and pulled into the intersection hitting Clark's motorcycle.

Clark was traveling north on Mitchell Road.

Turner was not injured in the crash, but was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
