(BEDFORD) - Indiana Department of Natural Resource officers and officers at the Lawrence County Police department are investigating an ATV accident that left injured an 8-month-old baby injured.
The accident happened Saturday afternoon near the railroad tracks on Sandpit Road.
According to DNR officer Phil Nale, the accident is still under investigation and statements are being taken from witnesses.
Nale says because of possible criminal charges, Lawrence County Police are assisting with the investigation.
A final report should be available later today.
The child was riding with his father when he was thrown from the ATV.
The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then transferred to Riley Children's Hospital.
