(JUDAH) - The Judah Festival wrapped up Saturday with a slew of activities, including the crowning of the Judah Idol winner.
At just 11, Meredith Deckard was the youngest competitor to make the finals, but she showed she is talented beyond her years by winning the contest.
Meredith sang "I Love You Like a Love Song" by Selena Gomez.
About a dozen acts performed in the preliminaries Saturday morning. Five performers - two adults and three kids - sang in the finals later in the day.
Janelle, Meredith's mother, says her daughter has performed in the last two musicals at Bedford North Lawrence High School, but she had never performed solo for a large crowd before.
Meredith, who will be a sixth-grader at Oolitic Middle School, received a medal and $100.
