Warrants Issued For Three Wanted For Receiving Stolen Property

Last updated on Monday, May 7, 2012

(BLOOMFIELD) - Three area men are being sought on arrest warrants in connection with allegedly receiving stolen property from a Lyons residence.

Nick Schneider, of the Greene County Daily World, reports arrest warrants were issued Monday from Greene Circuit Court for James R. Shelton, 21, Route 3, Linton; Larry D. Webb, Jr., 33, of rural Bloomfield; and Kenneth A. Calvert, 28, of rural Dugger.

All are charged with receiving stolen property - a class D felony.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Indiana State Police Master Trooper John G. Yung, William D. Brown reported Jan. 22 that several items had been stolen from a residence that he owned on South Jefferson Street in Lyons.

Brown said the thefts occurred during a period Jan. 4 to Jan. 16, when he was in the process of vacating the residence.

Among the missing items was a 36-inch Sony television; a red-colored Gibson SG guitar; an X-Box Elite gaming system; a 55-inch Sanyo television; and an Acer laptop computer.

The case came together when Brown received a telephone call on Jan. 20 from a friend who said he had purchased Brown's laptop computer from Shelton and Calvert for $60. The friend said he bought it to give it back to Brown, according to the probable cause affidavit.

During the course of the conversation with the friend, Brown learned that someone else had purchased his 55-inch television from Webb for $250.

Both items were returned to Brown the next day, according to court records.
