Two Martinsville Teachers Arrested On Sexual Misconduct Charges

Last updated on Thursday, May 10, 2012

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana State Police held a press conference Wednesday afternoon announcing the arrest of two Martinsville School teachers.

Former Martinsville High School basketball coach Tim Wolf, 65, and suspended Martinsville High School tennis coach Jeff McGown, 38, who also taught second grade, were charged with three counts of child seduction involving a former 17-year-old female student. Both men were arrested and posted.

Both men turned themselves in to police Wednesday afternoon and have since bonded out of jail.

In April, a Morgan County judge asked Special Prosecutor Doug Cummins to investigate possible misconduct by Martinsville school employees.

The investigation began following Wolf's arrest in February on charges of public indecency after police said they found him "in a state of nudity" in a parked car at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis.

Detectives said the 17-year-old girl in question was in the passenger seat "making suspicious movements."

Shortly after the arrest, Wolf resigned and McGown was suspended, prompting a three-month investigation by Indiana State Police. ISP detectives have spent the last month gathering evidence against the two men.

The student later came forward and admitting having a relationship with both men between January 2011 and February 2012.

"The initial lead back in February when State Police followed up on several leads, several tips, conducted, numerous investigations or interviews and have developed the case as it stands today," said Special Prosecutor Doug Cummins.

Police said during their investigation, they interviewed a number of people including several students from Martinsville High School.
